Waterproof is the first Nick Pynn release since his 2011 ep talktapes. Comprised of song, spoken word and instrumentals Waterproof can be perceived as a distant cousin to his album Afterplanesman (Sunday Times 'Best 100 albums of 2008') Each track features Nick's characteristic sounds on a variety of stringed instruments, many self made, including the 'Cocolele' which he made from a coconut and the Crystal Sisters- a choir of tuned wine glasses.

“14 original songs and instrumentals, neatly evading genre pigeon-holing as he exhibits a healthy interest in acoustic folk, introverted shoegaze, post-punk rock, and ethnic-flavoured rhythms…his original poetic ideas continue to intrigue”
“not only quite a step forward in terms of production values, but the performances are more assured than ever before”
“(Nick’s) one who’s willing to take you into his confidence, and disclose things worth knowing”

Ed Pinsent- The Sound Projector October 2015

'Stomp' drummers John Sawicki and Paul Gunter guest on drums and congas respectively, and Kate Daisy Grant provides cello, piano, melodica and voice on the album.
